Our journey to Bruges follows careers in London in the fashion industry and a business built around a passion for restoring Saabs. We came here for a weekend escape from our busy lives and found ourselves coming back again and again, each time living more as locals.
A couple of creatives in our own fields, the surroundings nourished our artistic souls and the laid back culture offered us the much needed relaxation we craved.
Fast forward 4 years and we have swapped our London commutes for our new life.
Here in the heart of the city we open our newly renovated 18th century townhouse to show you the familiar and not so familiar faces of Bruges.
Whilst maintaining our sense of “British-ness” we have looked to the riches of the trading history of this area and married it with a pared back modern aesthetic, to offer you relaxed luxury and an informal atmosphere. A holiday bolthole where you’ll find familiar B&B traditions - privacy and sociability - respected in equal measure.
And why The Doghouse name? Primarily because our Guesthouse is dog friendly but the name also has an element of humour, which plays to our personalities. Our aim is for The Doghouse to be memorable, as much for the holiday you will experience here, as for the name.
